Tool accounting – practical and efficient
The Acoris team has developed a very user-friendly tool accounting service. How does it work?
- We provide the software and give Toolmarks when the service is ordered.
- You attach the tags to the tools.
- When you give a tool to an employee, you scan the employee’s card with your phone without the tag assigned to the tool
- When a worker uses a tool, we pass it on to the next worker or warehouseman.
That way you’ll always know which employee took the tool and in what condition it was returned. In our customers’ experience, tools don’t “magically” disappear after the app is installed. Suddenly, everyone is responsible and diligent, saving the company’s assets probably more than their own. No more tracking, interrogation and constant warnings. If the unexpected happens and equipment breaks or malfunctions, you can deal with the problem according to internal rules.
What will you need to use the inventory system?
The system is very easy to install in your software and simple to operate. You can do almost everything without our help.
As we have already mentioned, we provide all the tools, and we recommend that you appoint a responsible person to deal with the registration. If there is not a lot of inventory and staff, it will probably be sufficient to assign someone to additional duties. If you have a lot of staff and tools, you will need a dedicated post. It is therefore worth calculating the costs and how much you have lost due to lost or damaged tools so far. Then it will be easy to assess whether this approach will pay off.
What if NFC stickers are not suitable for your inventory?
We can offer a range of options:
- Plastic discs (15-50 mm diameter, 2-5 mm thick). They have an adhesive surface and can be screwed or stitched.
- Special e-nails (38 mm long and 6 mm thick). Convenient for wood identification.
- Tags for animal identification.
- Straps with e-tag for marking pipes, cables, etc.
- Small electronic tags 7-15 mm.
This accounting system is suitable for a wide range of activities, including livestock farming. You can use special e-tags to tag different materials, tools and instruments. Depending on the specifics of your business, you can easily adapt and create your own system. Perhaps some of the inventory is stationary and you can delegate its maintenance to the relevant staff. In the event of an emergency, you’ll know who to talk to and how to solve the problem. Otherwise, it is often the case that, as if by design, nothing was present at the time and nobody saw what went wrong. When there is responsibility, attitudes change.
