NFC technology has already transformed the lives of millions of people, making it easier to travel, pay for purchases, exchange information, play smart sports and entertainment, organise work and leisure – the possibilities are endless.
Sony’s short video illustrates the changes in everyday life perfectly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_64mAcOn444
Everyone can easily and conveniently transfer photos, videos, music and share them with friends, colleagues or family:

Businesses that value happy consumers, which means growing sales and customer loyalty, are finding even more opportunities with NFC.
McDonald’s uses NFC to develop board games
“McDonald’s in Singapore has turned dining tables into interactive race tracks. “The Happy Table initiative is a collaboration with global advertising agency DDB. NFC stickers were stuck under tables in the restaurant. After downloading the McParty Run app, users can play racing games with their NFC smartphones on the table. To do this, the NFC tags are programmed to act as parts of a race track, similar to Scalextric tracks. When children run the app on their smartphones, the tables magically transform into McDonaldLand and their mobile phones become fun little cars. Kids can drive around the tables and collect burgers, apple pies and fight bad guys like Hamburglar and Captain Crook. “Happy Table” video https://youtu.be/c6ATOgEcR1U
More and more service businesses are embracing technology
More than 400 NFC-tagged billboards promoted KFC’s hot outdoor meals, encouraging consumers to put their phone down to get a discount at their nearest KFC restaurant.
NFC technology is indispensable for medicine, nursing and smart health care
Digital tattoo inventor Vivalnk has developed an NFC-based wearable thermometer that sticks to the skin and accurately measures the temperature directly on a smartphone. “The ESkin thermometer has an integrated NFC chip combined with a sensor that accurately reads body temperature in less than three seconds. The temperature is measured every 10 minutes and stored in the chip’s memory. It is then read by an NFC phone.
Hospital of the future – at home
People tend to imagine amazing technology and really impressive devices when it comes to future hospitals. But what if most medical care could be provided in our own homes, with a range of portable devices and gauges in our bathrooms and bedrooms. So let’s see what it will take to make our home the new clinic, the hospital of the future https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cpemR_koQuk. Social services at home are also becoming more accessible through technology https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jk5V3UTsNf8.
NFC technology is used in all walks of life, from smart bracelets that measure steps, heart and blood flow and transmit data to a person’s phone or directly to a doctor, to smart clothing that has found applications in sports and extreme environments, and it doesn’t stop there, as we are learning about new applications every day.
